A man called Salim Ismael Shah was beaten up in Nagpur by a four-member gang for allegedly carrying beef. The incident took place in Bharsingi area of Nagpur. A case has been registered by the Nagpur police.
Four people have been detained in connection with the case. Shah, 36, was thrashed with rods and sticks by men said to be members of a group named Prahar Sanghatan. The fringe group is allegedly linked to local MLA Bachu Kadu but it is not known yet if he was aware of the attack.
Shweta Jha of Aaj Tak presented a segment in her bulletin on the death of gangster Anand Pal Singh. A man was killed and over 20 policemen were injured in Rajasthan’s Nagaur as clashes erupted during protests over the death. Singh’s family has refused to cremate him and demanded a CBI inquiry into his death in an encounter with the police on June 24.
A mob attacked a police team with stones and set an officer’s vehicle and four buses on fire, injuring over 20 policemen, said senior officer NRK Reddy. Protesters snatched an AK-47rifle and a service revolver from policemen.
Brahm Prakhash Dubey of Zee News presented a report on India’s first 1600 HHP Solar DEMU Train.This is one of the environment-friendly measures taken by the railways which will also have financial benefits. The train, with a sitting capacity of 89 people per coach will be operational from Saturday.
Stationed at platform number 1 of Safdarjung railway station, the train will travel from Sarai Rohilla station in Delhi to Garhi Harsaru Junction, Farukh Nagar, in Haryana. It will replace the existing non-solar powered train on the same route. The reporter was poised and informative.
Four arrested for assaulting a Muslim carrying meat at Jalalkheda, about 35 km from Nagpur, on Wednesday. Salim Ismail Shah, 32, was carrying 15 kg of meat on his motorcycle from Amner village to Katol, when he was accosted by four persons who beat him up, alleging he was carrying beef.
