The VC, Dr Madan Bhatt, said it was an unfortunate incident and claimed that no loss of life had been reported. The CMS, SN Sankhwar, claimed that no patients were inside the ward where the fire broke out and so patients were not directly affected by it. They have now been shifted to another facility. The statements were contradictory regarding the safety of patients and who was to blame for the fire breaking out, indicating there were lapses on the part of the administration.

CM Yogi Adityanath on Sunday visited the trauma centre to take stock of the situation. The hospital administration said that inadequate security personnel and lack of an alternative model of trauma care led to the death of patients. The CM ordered a probe into this matter and has asked the three-member committee to submit a report within three days.
